ON “BEING HIS AMBASSADOR”

ON “BEING HIS AMBASSADOR”

Reflect on this: “Here we are, then, speaking for Christ, as though God himself were making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf: let God change you from enemies into his friends! Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order that in union with him we might share the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20-21 GNT)

ON “FOLLOW THE STAR”

ON “FOLLOW THE STAR”

Eberhard Arnold said: “The little stable at Bethlehem was the place where the love of God broke through to humankind. The wise men out of the East followed the star and discovered the place of breaking in, where the mystery of love lay in the helplessness of a human baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes in the feeding trough of an animal. They discovered the place where God’s love had come down. That is the most important thing for each of…

ON “NO PLACE HERE TO REST”

ON “NO PLACE HERE TO REST”

We are called to keep working for God, keep walking with God for no curse shall succeed in our lives, and remember one of  our Lord Jesus Christ replies: “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.” (Luke 9:58 NLT)

ON “ALWAYS BE USEFUL”

ON “ALWAYS BE USEFUL”

We are called to mount wings like Eagles, and can be fed even by the Ravens; overall, “Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life. Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope. Give a kind and respectful answer and keep your conscience clear. This way you will make people ashamed for saying bad things about your good conduct as a follower of Christ.” (1 Peter 3:15-16 CEV). Meaning, be useful at…

ON “NO PLACE TO REST”

ON “NO PLACE TO REST”

Jörg Zink said: “There’s nothing romantic about the Christmas story. If anything, it offers a slice of a brutal world in which a child is born on the street, so to speak, with next to nothing in the way of rights and security, and not even a home. He whose birthday we celebrate at Christmas said, even as a grown man, “I have nothing. I am nowhere at home. Even at night, I have no place to rest or lay…

ON “WHAT A LOVE?”

ON “WHAT A LOVE?”

Yes, what a depth of love God has for us? Love in a mortal way is not the same as divine love.  God exemplified His love for us by sending Jesus, who was without sin (2 Corinthians 5:21), to die for us while we were yet sinners.  Only through Him can we become the righteousness of God…and what more extraordinary evidence of God’s love is there than that!? That is it!!!

ON “ALL FOR YOU”

ON “ALL FOR YOU”

Have you read Phillips’ comment on Ephesians 3:18? Here it is: “When I think of the greatness of this great plan I fall on my knees before God the Father (from whom all fatherhood, earthly or heavenly, derives its name), and I pray that out of the glorious richness of his resources he will enable you to know the strength of the spirit’s inner reinforcement—that Christ may actually live in your hearts by your faith. And I pray that you,…

ON “THE DEPTH OF LOVE”

ON “THE DEPTH OF LOVE”

Evelyn Underhill said: “It is easy for the devout to join up with the shepherds and fall into place at the crib and look out into the surrounding night and say, “Look at those silly intellectuals wandering about after a star, with no religious sense at all! Look at that clumsy camel, what an unspiritual animal it is! Look what odd gifts of self-consecration they are bringing; they’re certainly not the sort of people who’d make it in a church!”…

ON “COME – THE COMPASSION OF THE LORD”

ON “COME – THE COMPASSION OF THE LORD”

Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will…

ON “COME TO ME”

ON “COME TO ME”

Jesus said: “Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.”(Matthew 11:28-30 GNT)
