ON “LOSING YOUR JOY”

ON “LOSING YOUR JOY”

Have you ever remembered why Eve lost her joy of staying in the beautiful, ever first, never like it, garden in this world? She lost the convent and lost everything with it. Think about Adam and Eve. They were in a perfect garden–beautiful, lush, flowers of every kind, fruit everywhere they went. They could eat all they wanted and not gain weight! There was no laundry to do! All they had to do was care for this fantastic God-given garden. Then one day, Eve focused her eye on a single tree, the one tree in the garden from which God had told them they could not eat. On that day, that tree became the most important thing she saw and distorted her view of the whole garden. All she could see was what she didn’t have. You can’t afford what you think narrowly flaws your lives to distort the whole picture. You can’t let one forbidden tree distort the extraordinary life God has given you. You must focus on the entire image; o yes, I mean, you must concentrate on the whole picture of why God brought you so far! Yes, what you have–the loving relationships, the abundant provisions, the gifts and talents, the grace and love of God must all been factored in so that in the long run, you discover that the flaws don’t matter at all, particularly when you exchange your current life at the feet of Christ’s Cross for eternal life. My admonition directly to you is that don’t live in regret by focusing on what you think is less-than. Don’t be like the man who asked, “Why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?” (Ecclesiastes 4:8). Enjoy what God has given you. Soak yourself in the magnificence of God’s grace for the moment and forever. That’s it!!!
