. L. Moody emphasised that the second step to the lost world is refusing salvation; while the third step is despising it! It is simple and most possible to determine people responses to the call of salvation today! People would easily refuse with two words despite the length of the call – ‘not presently’ and or ‘not tonight’. Yes, it’s easy to refuse salvation politely. Have you not heard people saying, non-sense to the repeated call of salvation? Refusing salvation is as simple as saying, I will not become a Christian now, thank you; I know I ought, but I won’t now; refusing it politely. The third step to the lost world is to despise salvation. Some have indeed got on the meagerer round of the ladder; despise Christ; hate Christ, hate Christianity; hate the favourite people on the earth and the promising friends they got; and if provided with the opportunity of receiving the Bible as a Christmas gift, would possibly tear it up and put your foot upon it. Oh, needless to say, that despisers will soon be in the lost world! The time of repentance is now! Earn haste, repent and turn to God. Now, on whichever step you are, my friend; neglecting, refusing, or despising! Today is a day of salvation – don’t neglect, don’t refuse, never despise it! That’s it!!!
