Fundamentally, God’s love is not based on human performance. If you go to Him, He’s not going to condemn you; He’s going to heal you. He’s not going to push you down; He’s going to lift you. He’s the One that will remove the shame and give you your honour back. Certainly, we are to come to Jesus Christ, but the way we come is through repentance, which involves a feeling of sorrow for sin and a turning away from it. Jesus Christ receives us just as we are, but helps us embark on a lifelong pursuit of seeking to know and do God’s will. He zealously cleanses us from both our past guilt and our present tendencies to sin. That’s it!!!
