The Apostle John reminds us, “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). God’s love is the source of all love, and when we love others with the same selfless and sacrificial love that God has shown us, we embody His love in the world. Jesus teaches us that there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for a friend (John 15:13). Don’t be afraid to love in this radical and selfless way, for in doing so, we bring light into darkness, hope into despair, and ultimately draw closer to the heart of God.
