FINDING STRENGTH IN REST
My dear brothers and sisters, in a society that applauds busyness and glorifies hustle, it is crucial for us to remember the importance of rest. Rest is not a sign of weakness or laziness, but rather a source of strength and renewal. Just as our bodies need physical rest to recharge, our minds and spirits also require rest to rejuvenate.
In the book of Exodus, God commanded His people to observe the Sabbath day and keep it holy. This day of rest was not just a suggestion, but a gift from God to His beloved children. It is a time to pause, reflect, and draw closer to Him.
Let us not fall into the trap of burnout, thinking that we must constantly be doing something in order to be productive. Instead, let us embrace the gift of rest and allow it to work for us. When we take the time to rest and recharge, we are better equipped to face the challenges of life with grace and resilience.
May we prioritize rest in our lives, not as a luxury, but as a necessity for our well-being. Let us find strength in rest, knowing that it is a precious gift from God to sustain us on our journey. Amen.
