1. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

2 “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

3 “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The wild beasts will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches, for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people.”

4 “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day. For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
