Don’t be unequally yoked; could take on the understanding of not being corrupted both physically and spiritually. By definition, contamination is to infect, corrupt or make impure. Why do we allude to an example of contamination that could underscore an accidentally place raw chicken on the counter and not clean it up? Yes, this is indeed to make impure, infected, corrupt, radioactive, etc., by contact with something or adding something; pollute; defile; sully; taint. As Christians, our calling becomes a well of pure, living water, representing all that is of God: purity, faithfulness, thankfulness, love, holiness, humility, selflessness, meekness, faith, encouragement. The list goes on. That is our hope and calling!
