ON “MORTIFY YOUR FLESH”

What? Have you not heard that setting trust in your flesh and human endeavours removes you from the existence of God? The flesh and its effects remain cosmetical! Which means, when we place our trust in our capacities, our flesh begins to lead us, and we wind up satisfying its desires. The best way to defeat the flesh and its lust is to zero and focus on Christ and how He has helped you and respect the provisions depending on His Spirit. “What I say is this: let the Spirit direct your lives, and you will not satisfy the desires of the human nature.” (Galatians 5:16, GNT). Setting your trust in Christ and in His works fills you with the life and tranquillity of God. Numerous devotees don’t understand that each time they place their trust in their tissue, they attempt to situate themselves as divine beings. “To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace. And so people become enemies of God when they are controlled by their human nature; for they do not obey God’s law, and in fact they cannot obey it. Those who obey their human nature cannot please God.” (Romans 8:6-8, GNT). Carnality obstructs profound development, appetite and affectability to God. It makes devotees incapable of comprehending and getting a handle on the revelation of Christ. Lewdness produces tepidness and negative mentalities like jealousy, envy and battling. At the point when our personalities and responses to each other depending on who we are in Christ, we won’t begrudge, gap and battle with one another. Lust can bait adherents into transgression, lead to a burned soul and wreck their faith – “keep your faith and a clear conscience. Some people have not listened to their conscience and have made a ruin of their faith.” (1Timothy 1:19, GNT). Consequently, I share with you today that, “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” (Colossians 3:5, ESV).
