ON “OPPRESSORS”

ON “OPPRESSORS”

Yes, we are on divine assignments to always stand against oppressors for the sake of others. Christians calling is all about walking with God of Justice and who in HIS power conquer the world. Martin Luther King Jr once said: “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his authority, but whatever he hears, he will say, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” Meaning, the truth always makes the demand for freedom for others because our God loves justice and will always judge sins. The act of sins put both the oppressed and oppressors in other bondage of sins. Sins in human life bring the oppressed into becoming oppressors. Meaning, the oppressed, instead of striving for liberation, tend to become oppressors (Paulo Freire). Nonetheless, for you and me: “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Corinthians 3:17, NLT)
